My Meal Plan

So each week I sit down on Sundays and Make a Meal Plan for a week. This gives me an idea if i need to buy anything special from the store. I just do my main dish as i usually have a hand full of sides i can throw with anything. And BOOO im completely out of ground beef so maybe there will be a good sale soon!! These are in no order. I used to plan and everything be a special day but i found my self not sticking to that so now i just make a list and choose something off the list for that day. Tuesday i try and do something easy as hubby has meetings.. The trick to meal planing is this. 1- Shop from your pantry first, then shop the sales ads, Then find the best prices on whats not on sale. The goal is to make each meal as cheap as you can. Each of my meals below will be under $5 including sides total(except the steaks but they are $8)

For the following meal plan, the only thing i dont have is hamburger buns for the chicken finger sandwiches.

Ranch Baked Chicken

Crock Pot pork chops

Grilled steaks(BTW anyone ever put a steak in a crockpot??)

Fried chicken fringer sandwiches

Baked BBQ pork Chops

Something premade from the Freezer- brunswick stew, veg soup ect

Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup

Great Target Finds

After my Great Lunch with Rebecca I desided that i would run into Target and see what they had. Turn out they had just marked down Linen 50 and 75% off today! If you get close it would probably be worth your wild to walk up ever asile in the linens. I saw curtains, towels, lots and lots of bed sheets, comforters, rugs, ect. There were several things i REALLY wanted but i desided to pick the best deals and get them. They did have a great douvet cover for $20 i almost got(marked down from 80)but they didnt have the shams or pillow slips and i wasnt sure i would find any to match. So i did snag these GREAT 100% 700 thread count sheets(king) for a mere $15! This was almost as good as my deal last year with 1000 TC for $15 but they didnt have 1000TC this year. I thought it was a super score! And there sooo soft!

Also the baby stuff thats was 50% is now 75%. I paid $1.12 for the hairbows and the socks. It was really picked over though!

Also I picked up our Free 3D glasses for the Grammys on Sunday. There were just laying there with the Michael Jackson DVDs(ididnt see them i had to ask but the Pratt store said they had BOXES of them) I also let Baby CC Model them, even though she didnt like them to much :)

Happy Targeting!

How I coupon...

So some of you are probably wondering how and where i get my good deals. So I thought i would do a quick post on that.

Coupons: I get 85% of my coupons from the sunday paper, yes the MA sucks. My mom has started saving hers from the Huntsville times and there much better, and I know my Great Friend Rebecca gets the Bham times and says they have better coupons than the MA but i havent ventured down that road yet. The other 15% I get from "Blinkies" (those machines in grocery stores that are on the aisle and have a red blinkie light), "Catalinas" thats the coupon you get at check out that prints next to the receipt, its usually very long and rectangle, from the Internet and from free samples. Almost 99% of the time free samples come with coupons! We also have local coupon swaps where we exchange coupons. If its a really great deal i will also purchase coupons from ebay. Purchase coupons!!??!! Yes thats right. To me its worth $1 for 15 or 20 coupons that get me something we use often or is a super good deal.

Finding the deals: I start off in the sales papers, I circle anything in the ad i think i need or i think is a great deal. Next i move to my coupon blogs(ill post below) I love the blogs because the work is done for you, all you have to do is follow the instructions. Sometimes there will be printable coupons that help you make your deals. Here are the blogs i follow. I check these everyday most of the time 2 times a day.

www.iheartsavingmoney.com
www.iheartpublix.com
www.moneysavingmaddness.com
www.totallytarget.com
www.dealseakingmom.com
www.whosaidnothinginlifeisfree.com

I also pay to subscribe to www.refundcents.com its $12/year for the online only and i think its well worth it!

Then i get my list ready. The main thing is stick to your list! I dont walk aimlessly up and down every aisle, i go in go straight for what im getting and get out. The longer you stay in a store , the more you will buy!

Asian Crock Pot Chicken

So as most of you know I am always looking for great new recipes ESPECIALLY Crock Pot ones! I just love being able to create a meal and throw it in and not have to worry about it! I also love meals that are Cheap $5 of less! I figured this meal at $1.50 for 3 chicken breast(on sale a few weeks ago at Food Outlet). .75 for 2 servings of Min Rice.(off brand) and .50 for the broc mac and cheese (on sale at publix in nov) I know the mac and cheese really didnt go, but i really like the broc one! so grand total of $2.75 TOTAL!

So Tonight was Asian Chicken
First a few things to consider, I dont eat Chinese sooo maybe thats why I only give this a C+, Brandon on the other hand LOVES Chinese and Gave it a B+. Its a cross of sweat and sour chicken. Anyway Here is the recipe if your intrested. (oh and yes if your wondering that plate is Halloween that I got for 90% off at Target, .19 and yes we eat off them alot! :)

The recipe calls for any chicken. I used Bonless skinless Breast.
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup soy(i used 3/4 of 1/4 i thought that was a lot of soy!)
1/4 cup sprite
2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup vinagar
Mix all together and pour on Chicken
Crock for 6 hours on Low-- Well Maybe my new digital cooks hotter, but at 4 1/2 it was done! Im very glad i was here or it would have been burned. Also on another note, i will double the sauce next time. It wasnt enough to cover the chicken and i flipped them about 2 hours in.

Anyway something new!
